About me

I am fully insured and DBS checked.

My career began in a childcare setting before I worked in a residential care home for young people whom for various reasons could not live at home. Whilst working in residential care I trained as an Early Years and Education NVQ Assessor as well as a Parenting Advisor which enabled me to run groups for parents who were struggling with the difficulties parenting brings.

In 2005 I trained in STEPS (Steps to Excellence for Personal Success), a group facilitation, life coaching practitioner. I have successfully run over 100 groups for adults and children and have seen huge results from many participants. In 2009 myself and a colleague won the Leeds City Council award for running STEPS programmes that were innovative due to the age range of our participants (6-88) along with the positive life changes they reported.

In 2006 I became the manager of a family project, offering support to both children and adults who were facing difficulties within their lives. I have worked successfully with individuals, couples and groups offering support around domestic violence, difficulties in relationships, sexuality, debt management, bullying, abuse, etc. Later that year I began my journey towards the Dip He in Therapeutic Counselling, studying Relational Psychotherapy. I found this to be both an interesting and humbling experience. I have completed over 9000 hours of counselling practice.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and am registered on the Voluntary Register of Counsellors as I strongly believe in the values and ethics that it supports.
